ABOUT THIS IMAGE

A late evening shot taken from the Kingston Pier looking along the reef toward Point Hunter. The reef at Slaughter Bay is specifically notable as the site where the HMS Sirius met its fate in 1790, etching the location into maritime history.
The name itself, ‘Slaughter Bay’ stirs up many thoughts and emotions, and located just yards from the Kingston Compound, Gaols and Gallows Gate, it might be hard to fathom anything but hardship and misery.
