WHY PHOTOGRAPHY?

“We often don’t choose the things we love to do, they choose us. As an art form, I have come and gone from photography over the years, however the need to capture and preserve has always been there and it always brings me back. Today, photography for me is almost a form of meditation and to stand alone with my cameras in wonderful locations and capture a spectacular moment in time is truly rewarding and cathartic. In other work I have done in design, publishing and brand development, trends move, designs change, logos change, brand campaigns come and go, but a really good photograph is forever.”

“I’m not necessarily trying to replicate what someone else will see if they stand where I am standing to take a photo because that’s not why I take photographs. My aim is to use the camera to convey what you might feel if you were to stand there. And that is fundamentally different.
